The Pellow Bros Story

Over 50 years ago, Alan Pellow didn’t know what he wanted to be. As a car enthusiast, though, he always knew what he wanted to do: anything…as long as it involved cars!

It was 1973 and Alan’s passion for all-things cars was when Pellow Bros was born.

Alan’s love for cars saw him purchase a Ford Escort which he then started racing. It soon became evident Alan was quite good at racing as he earned quite the name for himself!

In 1981, Anne and Alan welcomed their first child into the world, Clinton. Being surrounded by cars and growing up visiting most tracks NZ-wide, it’s no surprise Clinton developed the same passion for cars.

Leaving school at the age of 17, a young Clinton left the family home in Pukekohe to work as a yard boy at a large dismantling company in Tauranga. It was only four months when Clinton was promoted to looking after the counter and sales.

Two years later, Clinton moved back to Pukekohe where he was guided by his dad under the Pellow Bros umbrella. Back under his dad’s wing, Alan saw Clinton’s potential, passion and business savvy, so stepped back to hand the business reins over to his son.

In 2010, Pellow Bros Ltd moved from Manukau Road to Adams Drive in Pukekohe. This move meant Clinton could utilise the Adams Drive 1000m2 building to expand the business as well as store more parts inside so they were protected from weather conditions.

Part of expanding the business saw Clinton coming up with more ideas. He realised there was a ute market to be tapped into, for example. Over the next few years, Pellow Bros worked towards being specialist dismantlers of Ford, Mazda and Nissan vehicles.

Erin, Clinton’s wife, was working for the Pukekohe Business Association when she and Clinton decided to start a family. In 2015, they had their first son, Blake. With Erin’s business and admin experience, Erin raised her son while working for the family business.

With Alan’s blessing, it was 2016 when Clinton and Erin officially took over business ownership of Pellow Bros and renamed it Pellow Bros (2016) Limited. Clinton and Erin further progressed Pellow Bros to become Capricorn-preferred suppliers and members and gained their importers/exporters and second-hand dealer’s licenses.

In 2017, their second son, Lachlan was born, and, just like their dad and granddad, both boys are car-mad and cannot wait for the day they get to ride in their granddad’s old race car.

With so many years of passion for dismantling and providing new and used parts for commercial Mazdas, Nissans and Fords, you can count on us at Pellow Bros for all your second hand, genuine-new and after-market parts needs.

We ship parts New Zealand-wide, everything is in presentable condition and if we don’t have the part you need, we source it using our extensive parts network. So give us a call, tell us what you need for your commercial Mazda, Ford or Nissan.

And if you’re in the area, drop in and check out the home of Alan’s retired race car, one Clinton also raced at The Waiuku Dirt Track and one that to this day, still has customers comment on how fast the car was!

Because at Pellow Bros, we’re proud to have a long history of loving all-things cars.
